Weekly Dinner Menus 2016 – Week Three

Last week’s menu selections worked out amazingly well. I have plenty of minestrone soup in the freezer – great for lunches. Our British Shabbat was great. This coming week is a light cooking week. Wednesday night we are celebrating two very important birthdays and are going out to eat. I guess that means that Takeout Tuesday goes on hiatus until next week, but that’s ok. Not going to be anything too fancy this week. I have cut down on the amount of food I prepare over Shabbat – so not necessary to have so many side dishes.
Sunday night – Shabbat leftovers / cereal / pb&j sammiches – there’s plenty of Shepherd’s Pie and Welsh Cawl soup leftover from Shabbat.
Monday – Super Easy Veggie Crockpot Lasagna, and green salad
Tuesday – Basic Tomato Soup and Grilled Cheese.
Wednesday – We’re eating out. BIRTHDAY DINNER!!
Thursday – Red Beans and Rice – Instead of sausage, I will make it vegetarian and add shredded cheese for those who want.
Friday night - Homemade Challah , Baked Gefilte Fish, Homemade Chicken Soup , Sundried Tomato Chicken in a Cream Sauce - I will use coconut milk instead of the cream, sub margarine for the butter and skip the cheese, I will make plain rice – the chicken and sauce will flavor the rice when served. I will put out a platter of fresh veggies and dips too. Marble Cake for dessert.
Shabbat lunch: Cold Cut Sandwiches, with a big fresh salad.
