Delurking to tell you that if you send me your email address I will send you my list in Excel. Let me know if you’d like it! By the way, I enjoy reading your blog – been reading for a little while :-)

  2. no rice? no corn? no peanut butter? hummous beans? ohhhhhh, ashkenazi….

  3. Lady Lock and Load says:

Canola oil is kitniyos, but they have other kinds of oils kosher for passover. Cotton seed oil is cheap but not so healthy so I use grapeseed oil or olive oil (light) and everything comes out fine.
I see ketchup is on the list. :) Maybe get a few bottles of salad dressing unless you like to make your own. Tuna fish, mayo? Gefilte fish? drink boxes or water bottles for chol hamoed trips? Potato chips and kosher for passover cookies? And stop by the bank for a loan to pay for all this? ;)

  4. Mark says:

We get matzah (of course), matzah meal, but we also get something called cake meal (a finer ground matzah meal I think).

Interestingly, my wife (and some of the kids) are preparing the pesach pantry and they just* found a sealed cake meal from last Pesach. Can that still be used this year?

    * And I really mean “just” as in the same second I was typing this and asking about cake meal :-)

    • HSaboMilner says:

that’s funny about the timing. What does cake meal do? what do you use it for? Ask you LOR if you can use it this year – many say that any matzah products from the previous year become chametz by now…

  5. Otir says:

I didn’t see almonds in your list. I do buy a lot of nuts, because they are good for deserts that are casher l’pessah. My favorite is with almonds, but I also buy walnuts and hazelnuts for variety.

    Dry fruits too.

  6. ilanadavita says:

I buy ground almonds for dessert. Am not sure what almonds Otir had in mind.
    And salmon, frozen and/or smoked.

  7. ilanadavita says:

I have just seen you had already put salmon. What about pickles?

  8. Baila says:

The cake meal is a very fine matzoh meal that is used as “flour” for Pesach cakes. Don’t know about the LOR, but I keep mine in the freezer and it can be definitely be used a year later…

  9. curious says:

Pepto bismol and maybe some ex-lax (are these kosher for passover?)

  10. Dani Bright says:

    How about chocolate matzos?

  11. Lady Lock and Load says:

Liquid Pepto Bismol is okay for Passover according to Rabbi Blumenkranz’s book.

  12. Lady Lock and Load says:

I was thinking maybe you should ask KoD to buy a new bottle of dish washing liquid so HE could do the dishes ;)
    I am so evil!

    • HSaboMilner says:

he would do the dishes. He does them often. But I honestly think with 7 kids around we will be using disposable stuff. The environment will understand.

      • Lady Lock and Load says:

Hadassah, you may be the Queen of Diamonds, but this woman is the Queen of Disposables! I just bought TONS of paperware at Amazing Spendings (savings).

  13. Lady Lock and Load says:

And new sponges too! and POWDER FREE disposable gloves to protect your young and lovely hands!

  14. Lady Lock and Load says:

Good thing you guys don’t have pets or else I would add kosher lepesach cat or dog food. Now that stuff certainly is “worthy of a dog’s consumption!”

  15. Marla says:

  16. mokumalef says:

Chocolate matzot are amazing! Also look into whole wheat matzot and those containing apple juice (actually very tasty) for a change of unrisen venue.

  17. TRS says:

The most important item on the pesach shopping list is all that imported Swiss chocolate all the kosher stores bring in! My favorite is Krachnauss.

  18. lacosta says:

of course you are both ashkenazi and gebroks.

for the non-gebrokxs people, ground nuts and potato starch trump all
but now there are non-gebroks cereals for the kids…..

  19. susan says:

looking for a recipe for non-geroks passover rolls

  20. lady lock and load says:

Went shopping today, but I forgot salt! I should have looked at your shopping list hadassah!

  21. you have no idea how tired you are making me

  22. In Israel we have a 6-hour long candle instead of the regular 4 hour Shabbat one. And we have non-kitniyot margarine if you need.

  23. ima2seven says:

loooooove it! Thank you for posting this.

I don’t buy 1/3 – 1/2 of the things on the list, bu tit is helpdul nonetheless. We don’t use mayo, or tuna during pesach, or chocolate spread, or Pesach cereal… you get the point. Lots of barbecue for us!

Taking a copy around with me. : )

  24. is this updated and now including all additions?

  25. the blonde one says:

your list came up 5th when i googled passover list! Awesome girlie!!
