Why oh why is it seemingly impossible for young offspring to replace the phone in the charger thingy when they have finished their phone call? And why do I always end up looking for the phone when it has run out of battery strength so that the pager function doesn’t… well, function??

    Kids!!! And adults….. {sheepish grin}….
I’m guilty of this myself at times…
And I have THREE…….. (but only one works well… b/c one has a battery that doesn’t hold a charge, and the other fell in the cake batter once, and….. sigh….)

This is one of the reasons we have one phone (in the kitchen) that is not cordless. B”H your boys have legs and can walk and can talk on a phone. (if you think boys are bad with the phone, girls I think are even worse. I think all girls should be born with a telephone in their hand! :) )

If you ask Evan, you shouldn’t put it back on the charger until it’s dead. It kills the life of the battery, he says.

occasionally you are supposed to let it run down, I thought, not every single time you use it….

      Evan? What sayeth you?

What happens in every time you put the phone on the charger you are heating the battery. The heat actually slowly kills the battery cells, which makes the battery last shorter after you continually put it on the charger. Due to this, if you let it go down until very little charge left, the less often you are adding the heat to the battery and the longer the battery will last for.

It also depends on the type of battery, you can read a lot about it here:
