Fashion Faux Pas
We all have our favourite pet peeves – socks with sandals, flip flops with a business suit, pants that are 3/4 of an inch too short / too long, a guy who wears a belt and braces (suspenders).
What are yours? What fashion don’ts drive you crazy?

socks with sandals!!!
also, people who don’t dress for their body type. i believe almost anyone can wear almost anything, you just have to buy it in the right size/color/pattern for your body!
CROCS and CROCS with SOCKS…. and denim skirts with too big a slit in the back.
crocs are evil! gaaaaah!
I have two pairs of crocs, collecting dust in my closet. I just cannot wear them.
What size are they? I’ll gladly inherit them.
a large 8 – they feel like boats on my feet
I have a pair of crocs that look like black flats. I wear them all.the.time. comfy but appropriate for work!
I love my crocs. But only wear them around the house/to cook in/do housework in. I would not wear them in public–I think they are hideously ugly…even though they are fabulously comfortable.
Socks and sandals
Black shoes with white socks
Ties that are too short
It’s one thing to drop off at the bus in t-shirts and sweats covered in stains. It is entirely different to show up at a school event in the afternoon dressed like that… not saying it’s designer or nothing but someone take me down if I leave the neighborhood dressed that way.
Where does one start? White socks with a dark suit, suspenders with clips, clip on ties worm by anyone older than seven. Short sleeve dress shirts [sic], any form of tailored menswear done in synthetic fabrics, poorly heeled shoes, unpressed clothing. As a general matter, a man should be very careful about how he dresses. The goal is to look like he never gave his clothing any thought at all. And that takes a inordinate amount of advance planning.
Tights worn as pants. That’s a thing in Seattle now. No they are not opaque. Oh, and I can’t get on board with this patterned tights with business suits trend – like fishnets, rose lace patterns, etc.
I wear Crocs (with socks) twice a year, on Yom Kippur and on Tisha B’Av. The rest of the year I wear either shoes, sandals (with no socks), or sneakers. I found a particularly ugly set of them on sale and bought them a year or two ago. Here’s a photo – http://twitpic.com/6lhtoz
Skirts with sneakers! Big no-no!
So girls who only wear skirts can’t exercise or play sports? I agree though, which is why I bought my teenage daughter weekday shoes that aren’t sneakers. she can save the sneakers for gym. my younger daughters’ weekday shoes just are sneakers and I try not to mind.
Pink or purple fleece pajama pants worn in public. News flash, people DO know they are pajamas.
crocs, pajama jeans, too much gold chains and buttons, poorly heeled shoes, shoes-handbag-accessories all of the same color (they have to be coordinated instead)
Women wearing white bras under white tops. Wear beige/skin tone bras ladies!
Why is this an issue?
Because white bras under white tops are highly visible. because skin isn’t white.
I never noticed that.
worse is black bras under white tops.
Best is no bra under white tops!
